When doing a resume, please avoid using words and phrases that really are just claims on your part with nothing to back it up. Thing like “self-starter” or “detail oriented” are really generic terms that mean absolutely nothing. “Results oriented” is another one. Please give specifics. Anyone can say they are results-oriented! Let’s hear some of these results. Put down the numbers and metrics. These things will trigger a phone call because hiring managers want to hear the story of how you got to those numbers. So put it down on the resume, and then be prepared to talk about it!
